Vidyasagar Metropolitan College is one of the prestigious institutions in Kolkata and was established in 1961. The co-educational institution is located at 39 Sankar Ghosh Lane, near Thanthania Kali Bari. The college admits students at undergraduate level in various streams. Affiliated with the University of Calcutta, the college has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council.

It is spread over one acre of land and has enrolled students amounting to 1,064 and 37 staff members. It conducts eleven courses in six degree programmes along with specialisations in the fields of commerce, arts, and sciences.
