Sree Sankara Vidyapeetom College, Perumbavoor, which was started in 1967, is a self financing college affiliated with the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. This co-educational college is in Kerala and is spread over about 18. 03 acres of land and has been NAAC accredited ‘A’ grade. It provides 18 courses across 7 degrees and has 1079 students in total, and 53 faculty members.

According to NIRF 2024 college ranking, SSV College has come out in the band of 201-300. A vast percentage of the students in the institution is female with 55% in the undergraduate programmes and 76% in the postgraduate programmes all from within the state.
