Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute, Kanchipuram

MMCHRI was started in 2003 as a private medical college in Kanchipuram; Tamil Nadu is home to this esteemed college hospital and research institution. Affiliated to Meenakshi Academy College of Higher Education and Research Chennai, MMCHRI is accredited by NAAC and approved by National Medical commission (NMC).

It has a rich calendar of programmes in medicine and allied health sciences that include undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral-level programmes. Located in a campus of 39 acres, MMCHRI has 272 professionals in the faculty and harbours the latent talent of future Medical professionals. To cater for students’ learning needs, the institute boasts of well-equipped facilities meant to facilitate the learning process.

Organising out-station students’ accommodation, MMCHRI has provided different hostels for boys and girls, respectively. The college owns a health centre with adequate first aid facilities and services that meet the health needs of every member in the college. Also, the library offers access to 1,551 electronic journals in terms of the open access mode for the users.

For proper development, MMCHRI has provided best exercises facilities, like a modern gym and perfect place for sports. The college also has provisions for an auditorium for functions and seminars, a canteen for snacks and a well-organised transport department for the students as well as the staff.

Efforts made in the college to ensure that banks and ATMs are available on campus also further convenience to the college community. MMCHRI is providing a number of medical courses at different levels; the undergraduate level includes MBBS and the postgraduate level include MD , MS, DM, M. Ch. , etc. It also offers M. Sc. programmes with a speciality in medical fields.

The parent MBBS programme established in the MMCHRI is one of the largest medical programmes in the region, with a total intake capacity of 250 students per year. MMCHRI only accepts qualified students through a strict procedure of admission it adopts. NEET-UG admissions are followed for the MBBS programme due to the recommendations of the Medical Council of India and UGC regulations.
