Annamalai Polytechnic College (APC), established in 1956, is one of the well-known technical colleges of Tamil Nadu. It is located in Chettinad, Sivagangai district. This affiliated college, which is AICTE approved, offers diploma courses in the engineering fields. Located in 81. 91 acre campus, APC has the total student strength of 852 and faculty of 21.

The college offers five diploma courses as full-time programmes in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Textile Technology and Instrumentation and Control Engineering. The boys’ hostel which include fifty rooms with three students in each room is divided into two blocks, each with thirty rooms. The attached amenities include commercial recreational facilities like RO water purifying plant, gym, steam cooking facilities etc. There are adequate numbers of technical and general books in the library and it is staffed by a qualified librarian to increase efficient service.

It also has equipped laboratory for each departments to fulfill the practical knowledge and skilled experience. Under this component, APC has put in place excellent IT facilities to make sure that the students are able to catch up with current trends in their streams of study, in view of the increased technological advancements in the country.

Annamalai Polytechnic College provides five full time diploma course across its campus and all are regular courses. Every diploma programme takes three years to complete and gives the students extensive knowledge and skills in their areas of specialisation.
