VM Salgaocar College of Law is one of the renowned colleges in Goa and thus is governed by the norms published by Goa University. The college was also established in 1973. The college was previously known as Mahadevrao Salgaocar College of Law, but after it was renamed in honour of Vassudev M. Salgaocar who was a Philanthropist.

Since the college is affiliated to Goa University , the college also offers PhD programmes in law under Goa University.
