Vidya Bharati Mahavidyalaya was established in 1972 as a Science College at the undergraduate level, in Amravati. Later the Departments of Commerce, Humanities, Social Sciences, Cosmetic Technology and Management Studies were started at Vidya Bharati Mahavidyalaya and alongside these, postgraduate in Science and other 13 Programmes were added.

VBMV Amravati offers various courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Over four decades, the Vidya Bharati Mahavidyalaya has made remarkable progress in its present site with a vast campus in an elite residential area. VBMV Amravati has flourished as a multidisciplinary and multifaceted leading institution in this region. It has been affiliated with S. G. B. Amravati University ( SGBAU ), Amravati.
