A constituent college, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, School of Vocational Education (TISS-SVE) Mumbai was established in 1936. One of the biggest centres of vocationally oriented education in India, the TISS-SVE is based in Deonar, Mumbai. There are 4 levels of degree programmes coded for 47 course offerings in the institute with accommodating fields of study.

TISS-SVE, being a co-educational institution, offers equal opportunity for each student to follow his or her chosen career. However, there are diploma courses that include Geriatric Care, and Emergency Medical Technician.
