One of the renowned medical institutions, Swami Ramanand Tirth Rural Government Medical College, Ambajogai, was established in the year 1975. The government college has a campus area of 122 acres located in Ambajogai, Maharashtra. SRTRGMC is affiliated with the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences and is recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

The institute offers 28 courses across 4 degrees such as MBBS and a lot of postgraduate courses. SRTRGMC offers a wide array of medical courses in various specialisations in the concerned field. The intake of the flagship MBBS program is 150 seats. There are also a huge number of postgraduate courses in MD and MS programmes, such as Anaesthesiology, Biochemistry, General Medicine, Microbiology, Paediatrics, Pathology, Orthopaedics, and many others.

It also provides diploma courses in Radio Diagnosis, Ophthalmology, and Public Health specialities. For admission to MBBS, the admissions are carried out through NEET-UG.

For the postgraduates, MD and MS must qualify for the entrance exam, and its results are based on NEET-PG , which is the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduates. These examinations are nationally recognised entrance examinations, and thus the college accepts them for making the admission procedure at par with the competitive examination.
