St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Nursing was set in 2006 which is Established and Managed by St. Xavier’s Catholic Trust, Chunkankadai, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari District Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu Dr. M. G. R Medical University-affiliated co-educational institution offers proper quality of nursing education with Indian Nursing Council (INC) approval.

Located in 10 acres, this college has been taking a total of 412 students whereas employing the 45 faculties. St. Xavier’s has 7 course 2 degree of nursing programme according to different focus of nursing field. St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Nursing aim at ensuring that students access modern facilities as they aim at improving their knowledge.

The seated capacity of the library is 213 people and the library occupies 2336 square feet and has stock of latest edition nursing and medical books including 20 national and international Association journals. For practical training the college provides technically advanced laboratories for each section of nursing.

The Fundamental Nursing lab occupies 1800 sq ft of space complete with 10 bed, 3 dummies and ten sets of practical equipment. Other specialised labs includes Child Health Nursing, Maternal Nursing, Community Health Nursing labs and Anatomy & Physiology, Nutrition Nursing and Biochemistry & Microbiology lab where the each has been planned to give the students exposure to the practical field. Nursing for a period of 4 years – 100+2 for Post Basic B. Sc Nursing for 2 years – 40.

At senior level of specialisation, the college offers various M. Sc Nursing programmes which are 2 years programmes and there are 5 seat per specialisation. Some of lowest level post master’s degree include; M. Sc Medical Surgical Nursing, M. Sc Child Health Nursing , M. Sc Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing, M. Sc Community Health Nursing and M. Sc Mental Health Nursing.

Total student enrolment by all programmes is 412, which shows that our ability to uphold appropriate student/faculty ratio for individual attention to delivery of quality programmes.
