Being an autonomous college, St. Mary's College, Thoothukudi, was established in 1948. Located on a large 14 acre campus, the institute is a women’s college. It is affiliated with Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli and also has the NAAC accreditation. The college has 3195 students enrolled along with 130 dedicated faculty members, thus making an ideal student-teacher ratio. St.

Mary's College offers 36 courses in diverse fields of study. St. Mary's College promotes a wide range of amenities to aid and regulate the overall development of students.
