SSM College of Engineering, Baramulla

SSM College of Engineering is one of the leading colleges in the state that was founded in 1998 also located in Parihaspora, Pattan, Baramulla, Jammu, and Kashmir. This affiliated college with a sprawling ten and half acre campus is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

SSM College has total enrolment of 2884 students and sanctioned teaching faculty of 117 lecturers, it offers variety of 10 courses under 5 different programmes of study. The institute has almost equal number of male and female students in its 2279 total strength with 1481 male students and 798 female students proving its principal of equal opportunities in different fields of engineering and management.

SSM College of Engineering offers all the necessary resources central to the learning process of the college students. The library, which is the life of the institution, consist of more than 51,798 volumes of books, 300 titles of print Journal and Magazine, besides e-journals, newspapers, and multimedia facility.

An added feature in the building is a 100-seating capacity accommodated within the facility, digital library as well as the e-learning centre making it easier for academic and research activities to be carried out.

Equally as seamlessly developed is the IT structure of the university consisting of high end servers and the most prevailing software programme established from the curriculum and international standards to enable the students to graduated with high end skills in computer science engineering. SSM College of Engineering brought into the service offers a total of ten, both under graduate and post graduate courses.

The institute offers 5 undergraduate degree programmes which include BE in Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering , Electronics and communication Engineering and Electrical Engineering . Furthermore, it provides MBA, MCA and M. Tech degrees in mechanical engineering and Electronics and communication engineering.

Business administration is also offered in BBA from the college for those willing to pursue a business degree. All these courses are full- time and in terms of total approved intake for all programmes are 996 seats.

Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering 18 - SSM College of Engineering has most of its admissions conducted through the Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BoPEE), an agency that was established by the Jammu and Kashmir State Government. For engineering programmes, this institute accepts the Score of Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test (JKCET) as the entrance examination.

The college admits students in the following manner, the list of selected candidates provided to the college by BoPEE so as to confirm to standard procedures of the admission process. Of the total number of 2,176 undergraduate student in the 2021 academic year, 105 students were either reimbursed or offered some sort of financial assistance.
