Solamalai College of Engineering, Madurai, India was established in the year 1995 and is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu. Covering an area of 10 acres, this institution is approved in letter and spirit by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). The college provides quality engineering and management courses; the college have 12 programmes all in 3 levels of degrees.

In the present academic year, Solamalai College of Engineering has strength of 388 students and faculty memeber 78 thus; it imparts education in a student-faculty strength ratio. The institute offers the following fields in particular Computer Science Electronics & Communication Mechanical Engineering and Business Management.

The college incidentally offers several establishments intended to enrich the learning process of learners. There are two hostels for boys and two hostels for girls in the campus so that students can even have a home to live for. A collection of more than one thousand books and an opportunity to create a digital library allows students to get as many different pieces of knowledge as possible.

The information technology is however well adopted meeting modern learning requirements. To lighten the mood, the play consists of a noisy cafeteria. It also boasts of health with gym, sports facilities and several other amenities in a bid to make the college a health conscious institution. Essential science laboratories provide practical exercises; an auditorium provides venues for various functions and seminars. 1 A basic first aid station exists in the form of a health centre for physical emergencies.
