Sir Syed College, Taliparamba, Kannur was founded in 1967 as an affiliated college. The institution is spread over 13 acres of area and delivers a wide variety of undergraduate as well as post graduate programmes. The recognition goes to National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and the college has total strength of 2161 students which is 80% female and 20% male especially at undergraduate level.

The college has 63 faculty members, and it teaches 19 courses in 6 degree programmes through Arts, Science, and Commerce fields.
