Seshadripuram First Grade College, Bangalore

SFGC is a reputed college, founded in 1992 at Yelahanka New Town, Bangalore, fully known as Seshadripuram First Grade College. This affiliated college, established under the auspices of the University of Calicut, is recognised by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and provides many general and speciality study programmes at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The college is affiliated with Bengaluru City University . The SFGC spread over 2. 9571 acres, has a total strength of 3099 students and 42 faculty members on board. There is an amazing offer of 10 courses offered under 6 degrees with specialisations in Commerce, Computer applications, Business Administration and Sciences.

SFGC is coed; slightly over three-fourths of the students are male, while one-fourth of them are female. Besides, infrastructural facilities required in colleges are well endowed to provide quality education to the students. A significant component of education at SFGC, the library itself contains 34,719 books on the shelves and 30 journals and 22 popular magazine subscriptions.

It also includes an internet lab with 10 systems, has a fully computerised open access system and has an online public access catalogue (OPAC). The campus is wireless enabled, therefore affording internet connection in a non-confined manner.

The college offered 7 undergraduate programmes and 3 postgraduate programmes, which are full-time only. The undergraduate programmes comprise programmes like B. Com , BBA, BCA , B. Sc in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Electronics, B. Sc in Biotechnology, Genetics, and Biochemistry, and B. Com in Big Data Analytics. For postgraduate programmes SFGC offers M. Com, M. Com in Finance and Accounting and MBA.

The total approved intake for the Undergraduate courses is 1090 and out of this, B. Com has the maximum number of seats, which is 500. Building on the Admission Policies of Seshadripuram First Grade College, admission processes are based on merit and differ slightly in each programme.

The finalised list of students for the MBA programme is based on their score in either the PGCET or K-MAT examination, after which the students undergo counselling on the campus. For relevant courses, SFGC accepts KMAT scores (Karnataka Management Aptitude Test). The college also provides scholarships; 376 undergraduate students were reimbursed under scholarships in the 2022 academic year.
