Pushpagiri Institute of Medical Science and Research Centre, Thiruvalla more commonly known as PIMSRC; is a Medical College in Kerala commenced in the year 2002. This affiliated college is situated in Thiruvalla, Kerala and has carved a niche for it with regard to medical education and research. Recognised by the NMC and PCI, PIMSRC has a spectrum of medical courses for its students.
The total enrollment of students in the institute is 669 and the institute also has a good ratio of the female students that is 69 percent. With a faculty strength of 128, we offer quality education in 24 Courses and 5 Degree Programmes free from excessive density of students-teacher ratio.
Pushpagiri Institute of Medical Science and Research Centre again has equipped itself with excellent number of facilities which are advantageous for both learning and health of the students. There are two hostels on the campus – boys’ hostel and a girls’ hostel, which are spacious, clean and well furnished and are secured round the clock.
The college has a modern built up library with a seating capacity of 500 students with its book published over 15,522 at present with 184 national and international journal subscription’s Inclusive of providing a digital library to help students get easy access to resources.
This facility has also incorporated our institute’s development commitment by having adequate amenities such as a gymnasium, cafeteria and auditorium. PIMSRC for their medical training has adequate laboratories equipped with the most appropriate equipment and a health centre with basic first aid services available.
The campus also provides places that include a branch of the bank, ATMs outlets, post office services and stores that meet students’ needs. Medical education at the institute covers all possible courses offered by medical colleges for undergraduate, postgraduate, and even super specialty.
The biggest programme of MBBS takes an intake of 100 students every year, and the different courses of MD , MS, and DM other medical courses are also available. PIMSRC has 24 courses , 498 students in undergraduate and 171 in postgraduate courses. The programme admission to PIMSRC is equally competitive for all students after sitting for national level entrance exams.
The NEET-UG is the only test requirement for the MBBS programme, and the candidate must pass it. In the same way, entry into postgraduate medical schools depends on-passing the NEET-PG exam. I want to note that these tests guarantee the objective selection with reference to the abilities and achievements of the applicant.
It also provides the scholarship enrolment where 27% of the undergraduate students participate for scholarship and 30% of the students participate for the scholarship in post graduate level. This tradition of excellence is also reflected in the ever growing list of successful alumni who implement their knowledge across the medical spectrum.
