NSS College Ottapalam, which was started in 1961, is situated at Palappuram, Kerala. Located in a vast 41 acres area, this affiliated college been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). 1992 NSS College has a total enrolment of 1,758 students and 48 faculties offer 20 courses in 6 degree programmes.

On gender dynamics, as the institute has set a good record in gender Diversity, the number of female students takes the larger part of the institute’s population in, Undergraduate programme 70% female, Post graduate programme 88% female. The NSS College boasts of facilities that fully supports the learning abilities of the students.

The second constituent, library, which is the central part of any academic institution, contains over 49, 000 books and offers access to online resources available under INFLIBNET consortium N-List scheme. Studnets are free to access a digital library with internet facilities in additional to the central library and departmental libraries.

The college also boast of laboratories which are well equipped to support physical learning activity. For the physical well being of its students NSS College has a facility to play indoor games such as basket ball and carom, it also has many outdoor games facilities such as basketball court, football ground, and volley ball court etc.

The campus has Internet facilities whereby the internet is accessible at the computer lab and departments of the staffs and students. NSS College, Ottapalam provide all kind of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, fourteen and six respectively.

The undergraduate programmes offered by the university are spread over arts, science, and commerce, and the postgraduate programmes are designed to carry forward the specialised fields of study including Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science , English, and Economics and Commerce streams. All courses are daytime, hence allowing student to gain thorough understanding of their selected areas of specialty.
