Munnar Catering College (MCC), launching in 2004, is one of the renowned organisations involved in hospitality education which is based at Munnar, Kerala. This affiliated college is located at Sooryanelli, Thachankary Hills and the college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Located in a 5 acre campus, MCC has a number of distinct programmes in hospitality and tourism management.

This college has aggregate intakes of 269 and faculty 22 which indicates that the college offers concentrated learning atmosphere. MCC provides choices in eight programmes of four majors including hotel management catering technology international business management. Munnar Catering College has several facilities it owns or uses which aim at supporting teaching and the total growth of students.

The residential campus having WiFi facility has sophisticated laboratories for practical exposures. The school provides students with a computerised library, computer laboratories, and training kitchens for a more appropriate learning environment.

For physical development/ fitness and recreation there is a fully-equipped gymnasium, an Olympic-sized swimming pool with a whirlpool, and special facilities for basketball, volleyball and badminton. The campus also has hostels for boys and girls out-station students, so they practice proper accommodation.

Through a cafeteria, the college provides food needs for students, lecturers and other community members while the college auditorium is for any event and seminar. Campus has health facilities focusing on student health through a first aid station located at the college. Munnar Catering College presents a vast number of full-time programmes in hospitality and tourism industry.

Currently the institute offers 8 programmes – undergraduate degrees, diplomas and majors, and specialisations. Among the various programmes of the institute, some are B. Sc Hospitality and Hotel Administration , Diploma in Hotel Management and Catering Technology, and several other Diplomas in some of the fields of operation such as International Business Management or Professional Cookery.

Concerning the overall approved intake across all courses is 414 students maintaining the colleges acknowledgement to competitive class sizes for efficient learning. The admission criteria to get into Munnar Catering College differ according to the programme of the students. The admission criteria followed to join B.

Sc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration for the course is the Joint All India Entrance Examination conducted by the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology NCHM&CT. The exam referred to as NCHM JEE remains one of the major entry points for students wishing to be hospitalities. For other courses one may find that the college has its standard admission requirements for its learners.

However, for some of the programmes offered at MCC, students are allowed to sit for IELTS test as well.
