MES Asmabi College, Thrissur

MES Asmabi College was started in the year 1968 and is situated at Thrissur, Kerala. This is an affiliated college which is NAAC accredited and it provides various courses in undergrad and postgrad. The college is spread across a large area of 13 acres and is home to 2161 students and 94 faculties.

MES Asmabi College offers the facility of 26 courses in 10 different courses of degree programmes in the fields of Arts, Science, and Commerce. The college is found to possess adequate standard facilities to meet the needs of students for their academic and all-round developments. The ABDUL KSA Library is a memory of Mr. Jb. P. K.

Abdulla and the library is a huge area of 3500 sqft and has more than 30000 books collection and also has membership of NLIST to get online e-resources. Internet facilities as well as academic databases are available for research from the digital library. For practical training’, the college has well-stocked laboratory for almost all the departments of the college.

The students too get separate hostels for girls and boys for homely stay for out-station students. The college has an auditorium to conduct various activities, such as programmes and seminars Apart from that, the college has canteen where hygienically prepared meals are sold at very cheap rates.

Departments in MES Asmabi College include faculties of arts, business, education, computers and science, and health education. There are 20 undergraduate courses being offered in the institute, covering areas such as BA Economics, BA English Language and Literature, B. Sc Physics , B. Com, and BBA, etc. In postgraduate studies, the college offers 6 programmes: general M. Com. Financial Management, MA Economics , M.

Sc Botany and the like. Besides these, new generation B. Voc courses like Fish Processing Technology, Digital Film Production, Tourism Hospitality Management and Logistics Management of the college have been launched. MES Asmabi College has laid down their admission process in consideration for the students and focuses on a merit system.

In general, the undergraduate programmes have the facility for admissions on the basis of the percentage students have scored in their plus two examinations, which is equivalent to the standard 10+2.

Various scholarships are available at MES Asmabi College, Thrissur, for meritorious and economically backward students. A huge percentage of the students available in the statistics benefitted from these scholarships/fee reimbursements. From the total of 2,324 undergraduate students, about 1,001 students were recipients of some form of financial assistance.

This indicates that around 43% of the undergraduate student population received financial aid. The postgraduate programs saw 86 persons benefitting from scholarships out of a total of 194 students. This means about 44% of the postgraduate students received financial aid. Scholarships may be awarded on the basis of merit and these can be augmented with need-based financial assistance or government-sponsored schemes.
