Mamata Medical College, Khammam

Mamata Medical College, situated in Khammam in the state of Telangana, India, was set up in the year 1998. With a total of 29 courses and 6 degrees, the college is located on a 40 acre campus and provides a wide array of medical-related programmes. National Medical Commission approved and NAAC accredited, Mamata Medical College is an affiliated college and wasestablished in the year 2000.

The institution has 995 students and a faculty of 273, which makes it suitable for medical education. The college provides a number of specialisations in and out of medicine, which include MBBS, MD, MS DM, and M. Ch at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Mamata Medical College is affiliated with Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Warangal .

Mamata Medical College has various modern amenities that can enhance students’ learning process in the college. This has separate hostels for boys and girls to ensure students get a comfortable place to live in during their studies. An ultra-modern, central air-conditioned hall with a total seating capacity of one thousand is used for holding conferences, Continuing Medical Education (CMEs) and guest lectures.

For physical fitness, it has air-conditioned gyms with all modern facilities, having separate sections for boys and girls. Outdoor facilities include basketball, volleyball, tennis, and cricket facilities, etc. , while the indoor facilities include facilities for table tennis, carrom, chess, etc. The main library is situated at CET with an area of 29,428 sq.

ft occupied over two floors and provides a comfortable air-conditioned environment with a comprehensive collection for academic pursuits and study. The college provides a total of 29 courses in different fields of the medical stream. As for the flagship programme, the MBBS course is introduced, the exact number of study places being 200, according to the approved quota.

The college also offers a large number of postgraduate courses, following the major disciplines such as MD and MS in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General Medicine , Paediatrics, General Surgery , Anaesthesiology, etc. Furthermore, it has super speciality courses like DM Cardiology, M. Ch Neurosurgery , and M. Ch Urology in the institution. It also has doctoral programmes for the college in the form of Ph.

D disciplines such as Anatomy, Physiology , Pharmacology, Biochemistry, and Microbiology. The admission criteria are usually based on the scores obtained in the national-level tests. For the MBBS programme, there are centralised admissions that are in the form of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test ( NEET ). For postgraduate courses, NEET PG marks are required.
