Maharaja's College, Mysore

The college, Maharaja’s College, Mysore, is one of the constituent colleges that are oldest established in the year 1833 and situated at Mysore, Karnataka. Now being a co-educational institution, this institution is almost two centuries old and has been a premier higher learning institution in that region.

Located in a 34-acre complex geographical area, it provides numerous faculties and courses in almost every stream of education. Maharaja’s College is an NAAC-accredited college, and the college has always ensured maintaining high standards of education. Total student enrolment in the institution stands at 3329 and the institution has seasoned faculty of 49 persons.

Currently, the college has 31 courses and seven degree programmes, thus offering all-round college education to its learners. It is established that the college is furnished with current structures to facilitate provision of its academic work. university library is one of the biggest and oldest university libraries in the country, with more than 600,000 volumes of books available for students and researchers.

In as much as the Campuses care for the student’s health, their are separate hostels for boys and girls, a health centre and a gym. The college also has first-rate infrastructure facilities in terms of IT facilities, Wi-Fi facilities, and well-equipped laboratories for practical’s. It promotes cultural and literary activities through its auditorium at the Centenary Building and Junior and Senior B. A. Halls.

For students to have a balanced lifestyle, there are sporting fields to be used as regard to sporting activities, and there is a school canteen for food and refreshments. Undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph. D. courses and programmes are available in Maharaja’s College. The institution offer 31 courses in its different fields, the full-time programme offered in arts, commerce and sciences.

These include the normal programmes like the BA , B. Com. , BBA , Masters of Science in Criminology and Forensic Science, Masters of Science in Geography, Masters of Arts in International Relations and Masters of Arts in Political Science. The college also has M. Phil. and Ph. D. programmes in some fields to be able to address the education needs of research-inclined candidates.
