KL University History Koneru Lakshmaiah Charities was established in 1980, which led to the founding of KL College of Engineering in the academic year 1980–81. The trust was converted into Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation Society in 1996, and the college attained autonomous status in 2006.
