Knowledge Institute of Technology Salem abbreviated as KIOT Salem was established in the year 2009. Knowledge Institute of Technology Salem has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an ‘A’ grade, and by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) as well.

A total of 18 specialisation programmes are offered by the KIOT courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels in the BE/ B. Tech , ME, MBA, and Ph. D degrees with a duration of 2 to 6 years. KIOT Salem is also affiliated with Anna University, Chennai .

For KIOT UG admissions TNEA score card is accepted by the institute, and for KIOT PG admissions TANCET entrance exam or a valid score card of GATE is required, followed by a counselling round of TNEA for UG and TANCA for PG courses. According to KIOT placements 2025 data, over 610 students were placed.
