Indian Institute of Teacher Education, Gandhinagar

The Indian Institute of Teacher Education Gandhinagar is a state public university established by the government of Gujarat in 2010. The institute is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The college is approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and the University Grants Commission (UGC).

IITE offers a total of 8 courses at 3 levels, which are undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses. IITE courses include B. Sc B. Ed Integrated , BA B. Ed Integrated, B. Ed M. Ed Integrated , MA M. Ed Integrated, M. Sc M. Ed Integrated , M. Ed, Ph. D Education , and Ph. D Education Part-Time. The duration of the courses ranges from 2 to 6 years depending on the level of the course.

IITE admission to these programmes is based on the marks obtained in the UGC NET /CSIR UGC NET. IITE has a dedicated placement cell to help students to start their corporate journey. As per the NIRF Data 2026, 13 undergraduate students were successfully placed in top organisations, with the median salary of Rs 2. 70 lakh per annum.

For the 3-year postgraduate programme, 14 students secured placements during the 2024-25 academic year, with a median salary package of Rs 3. 90 Lakh per annum. IITE campus is a "no-ragging" zone, and anyone engaged in such activities will be immediately suspended from the university.

IITE facilities include separate hostels for both boys and girls, a library, an innovation centre, and medical care, and other facilities are provided to students and members.
