Autonomous Government Holkar Science College was established in 1891 at Indore – The Heart of Madhya Pradesh – India. This co-educational college is NAAC accredited and offers a numerous science courses at the Undergraduate, Post Graduate, and Doctoral levels. Located on a vast area of land of 34 acres the college has in total 11,291 students, of which 57% of students are male and 43% are female students.
68 programmes are taught by the institute which are spread over 7 degree programmes and run by a faculty of 102 members. They are Biotechnology, Computer science, forensic science, among others sciences. Existing facilities present on Government Holkar Science College facilities show that they offer a way many number of opportunities for academics as well as co-curricular.
It is an important collection centre containing many text books, references, magazines, periodicals, digital resources etc. There is also a recreational reading hall with an internet connection, for use by the students and scholars. It has 46 departmental laboratories that provide practical facilities to meet the students’ need for learning practical knowledge.
There are five seminar halls in addition to a spacious hall for holding academic discussions and events in the college. Several amenities are available like Cafeteria, Medical Facility, IT Infrastructure and separate facilities for indoors & outdoor games. The college also has boys’ and girls’ hostels which are also available for outstation students and other students who want to stay in college hostels.
Government Holkar Science College provides a good number of courses in their academic department. The institute offers 68 programmes , which are at undergraduate, postgraduate and postgraduate research level. These include full-time programme in sciences with majors in areas of Biotechnology , Computer Science, Mathematics , Physics and others.
However as for the student intake the college has intakes of 6,593 for all the programmes offered in the college. Graduation numbers for the most recent year are unknown; however, the college provides a complete schedule of questions and answers on scientific interests and potential employment.
At Government Holkar Science College, admission is done based on merit where candidates are required to produce their previous test scores passes. Undergraduate courses are admission through 12th standard marks; however, postgraduate courses may require the relevant bachelor’s degree.
