Government College of Engineering, Amravati

Established in 1964, the Government College of Engineering Amravati is the oldest engineering college that offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The college was established by the Government of Maharashtra along with three other government institutes at Pune, Aurangabad, and Karad. The college campus is spread over 105 acres of land on Amravati Walgaon Road.

Government College of Engineering Amravati is commonly known as GCOEA. The college is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and all the eligible programmes are accredited by the NBA. Initially, the college was affiliated to Nagpur University, then to Amravati University now to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University (SGBAU) in 1982.

In total, 2 degrees and 20 courses are offered by the Government College of Engineering Amravati for admission. The college offers courses at the UG and PG levels. Candidates have to sit for MHT CET /JEE Main , followed by counselling for B. Tech admissions. For M. Tech admissions, students must appear and obtain valid scores in GATE .

Government College of Engineering Amravati Scholarships, Eligibility Criteria and Benefits Scholarship Name Eligibility Criteria Benefits Scholarship Scheme for State Minority Communities The candidate must be an Indian national and domicile of Maharashtra state. Applicants must have passed SSC from Maharashtra state and must be “Bonafide Student of Institute” and admitted for professional and technical courses.

The total annual family income of applicants should not exceed Rs 6 lakhs. Note: Candidates should not avail any other scholarship/stipend. For the technical course ( part-I of GR ) scholarship amount maximum Rs. 25,000/- per annum or actual fees whichever is less.
