Government Champhai College, Mizoram

Government Champhai College, Mizoram was established in 1971 at Vengthlang North Champhai it is an Affiliated college. The institution occupies 11,66 acres and provides 16 programmes within such 6 degrees. College offers a wide breadth of programme options and currently enrolment is 628 students and 62 faculty members.

The Government Champhai College is recognised by NAAC which upholds quality education IE government champhai college is accredited to the national assessment and accreditation council. Some of the subjects in which the college provides specialisation are Computer Applications, Political Science , History, Geography , Education, English, Mizo, Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology and Mathematics.

Government Champhai College has many features to improve the student amenities the college has to offer. It has two hostels for girls and boys the boys’ hostel has 18 seats while the girls’ hostel seates 30 students. It possess a fully equipped modern library and information resource centre are stocked with over fifty thousand books and journals.

For recreation, there is a basket ball cum volley ball court and table tennis hall for the sportsmen. As on date, college has forty computers with Internet facilities, out of which twenty five are in library and remaining fifteen are in BCA lab.

Other facilities include the college canteen, college auditorium, college labs, guest house, a mini health care center with first aid section, an internet connectivity over the college campus, college bus for transportation etc. The college also has a gym for those students who are into body building and other extra physical activities.

There are total fifteen programmes offered in Champhai College all are under full time streams with an offer of only Government stream. These courses cut across the School of Computing and Information Technology, School of Arts, School of Science and School of Commerce respectively with the following programmes; BCA, BA with various honours in specific subjects, B. Sc with honours in a variety of subjects, B. Com .
