GITAM University merit scholarships are based on marks secured in entrance examinations such as GAT/ GBAT/ JEE Mains/ CUET/ CAT/ MAT/ NMAT and other national or state-level entrance exams. The scholarship offered through GBAT/ GAT or national and state entrance examinations is applicable only for the first academic year.

To continue receiving the same scholarship in the following years, students must secure a minimum CGPA of 8. If a student obtains a CGPA between 7. 5 and 7. 99, the scholarship will be reduced to the next lower slab among 75%, 60%, 40%, 25%, and 15%. However, this reduction rule does not apply to students who are already receiving a 15% scholarship.

Students can become eligible for the scholarship again in any subsequent year once they achieve the required CGPA. Need-Based Scholarships GITAM University provides Need-based scholarships to students who already receive merit scholarships and belong to financially weaker families.
