Father Muller Medical College Mangalore was established in the year 1991 and is a unit of Father Muller Charitable Institutions. FMMC Mangalore is accredited by NAAC with 'A' grade and approved by NMC, New Delhi. The college teaches 33 courses in total across 6 differing degree programmes at UG, PG and doctoral levels.

Father Muller Medical College Mangalore is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru, under which the undergraduate and postgraduate degrees are awarded. FMMC offers courses like MBBS , MD in 14 specialisations, MS in five specialisations , 4 MCh courses, 5 PhD and 3 Doctorate of Medicine (DM) courses.

For admission to the MBBS programme, students first need to clear the NEET-UG exam. Admission to MD and MS courses is done after clearing the NEET-PG exam. The NEET-SS score is also considered in the college for super-speciality programmes like MCh and DM .
