DRR Polytechnic, Davangere

D. R. R Polytechnic, Davangere was established in the year 1947 and it is the oldest polytechnic institution with a experience from the last seventy two years. A college affiliated with the VTU in Karnataka, specifically in Davangere, this institution has been training for the next generation of technicians and engineers.

Accredited from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), DRR Polytechnic is spread over a large of 26 acres of land allowing room for education and other co-curricular activities.

The institute today offers a total number of 972 students admitted recently in the institute and has a number of faculties of 26, so it has got a good strength of faculties as well as students ratio which is very important factor for gaining individual attention towards the students as well as providing quality education to its students. The D. R.

R Polytechnic boasts itself in the provision and availability of variety of facilities that will in one way or the other improve the learning ability of the student. There are two hostels for boys and girls respectively found in the campus to enhance accommodation for those who travel from distant places.

A good library in a school or college acts as an information centre and adequate available laboratories where modern technologies are employed in the teaching learning process for various disciplines. At the Polytechnic level, DRR has 6 programmes; all the programmes are full time diploma courses with certain specialisation.

These courses cut across all engineering disciplines to offer the students the variety they desire or the specialisations they would wish to achieve. This diploma programmes are Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering and Commercial Practice.
