The Department of Law, Barkatullah University, Bhopal was established in 1970, is an esteemed constituent college for legal education. The esteemed institution is situated in the middle of the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh and boasts of a 400 acre of campus. The department, recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI), serves to provide the necessary laws for the legal personnel.

The management of the department is with two members of the faculty—this prepares the institution to deliver personalised education to the students enrolled in the programme. The institution provides 4 specific course programmes and covers numerous special fields in the sphere of law, thus providing an extensive legal education for its learners.

The students learning in the Department of Law use many facilities that are meant to enrich their learning experience. It has a professional learning resource centre, and the college library is adequately stocked with huge legal material and literature. For the visitors and students who would need special accommodation the institution has a hostel facility for both male and female students.

The department also has a moot court where the students get to practice actual courtroom processes of the country and also develop on their advocacies. Other facilities include; game courts, canteen, a gym, and a sick bay with a health care facility. Modern IT facilities are used in the college, which mean students will have to rely on the necessary tools demanded for today’s college learning.

An auditorium is meant for hosting events and seminars where academics initiates an active student environment. Department of Law has a 4 full time courses for students who need to get Law education at different levels. The courses offered are an integrated five year’s BA LLB (Hons) , two years LLM (Master of Laws), six years Ph. D. in Law and three years LLD (Doctor of Laws).
