Darshan Shah College, Katihar, established in 1953, is one of the premier institutions in Bihar, India. It is a constituent co-educational college serving the academic community for nearly seven decades.

Spread over an area of 16 acres, Darshan Shah College provides an ambience that is uniquely conducive to the pursuit of higher learning, offering diverse undergraduate and postgraduate courses to as many as 5,922 students enrolled. Darshan Shah College has a long list of facilities to help in making learning at a college level quite beneficial. To start with, a well-stocked library is there for students.

At the undergraduate level, the college offers Bachelor of Arts ( BA ), Bachelor of Science ( B. Sc ), Bachelor of Commerce ( B. Com ), Bachelor of Business Administration ( BBA ), and Bachelor of Computer Applications ( BCA ). For the students having a bachelor's in advanced studies, the college offers a Master of Science in Chemistry, a Master of Commerce( M. Com ), and a program in Bachelor of Education.

The intake in B. Ed. programme is 100 students, approved by the university, which shows the outlook of teacher education in the college. The admission procedure of Darshan Shah College is systematic. The college adopts the policies of the state government and the university. In the case of the majority of courses, admission is made on the grounds of merit, that is, marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

However, the B. Ed. programme may have an entrance examination or other selection processes under the guidelines of NCTE.
