CSI College of Engineering, Nilgiris

CSI College of Engineering (CSICE), was started in the year 1997, situated at Ketti, near Ooty, in the hilly tract of Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu. As an affiliated college recognized from the All India Council for Technical Education – AICTE this institution provides a wide array of engineering course on a 25 acre campus.

Currently CSICE has a student enrolment of 748 and faculty of 109 which enables technical education to be enhanced in the institution. It has 5 degrees with 16 courses, such as Computer Science, Mechanical, Electronics and communication, Electrical and electronics, Information technology, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science recently added.

These facilities are intended to improve the college’s students’ experience, and the college possesses diverse amenities. The boys and girls are housed in their respective hostels of accommodating about 800 population, and they have their own mess serving home-like foods.

An Appraisal: A versatile library provides more than 15,276 books, 250 bound periodicals, 9000 special titles for its users out of the 9,300 registered book stock. For the sports lovers of CSICE, there are various options like volleyball, ball badminton, throwball, kabaddi, cricket, football, etc. along with athletic tracks. The college also keeps a gymnasium for those students who want to remain fit and healthy.

Medical requirements are met through a dispensary which is found at the college compound, but in case of emergency, some vans are available at any time. In total, CSI College of Engineering has 16 courses, with both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

These undergraduate programmes include BE Computer Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, B. Tech Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science.

At the postgraduate level, the college offers ME programmes in Computer Science Engineering, Power Electronics and Drives, Structural Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering.
