The College of Sericulture, Chintamani, is a unique institution in the country, recognised by the Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) and specialising in sericulture and agriculture education. The college conducts an elaborate entrance procedure to select candidates who are highly motivated, interested, and perhaps somewhat trained in the disciplines of agriculture and sericulture.

The College of Sericulture admission process also gives effect to the state's reservation policies, providing fair opportunity and easy access to all eligible candidates.
