The College of community and applied sciences is one of the constituent colleges of the Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology which was established in 1966 at Udaipur Rajasthan. Home science and related disciplines are taught at this reputed college, which has its campus sprawling over an area of 3. 06 acres.
At present the college has recruiting of 25 faculty members it provides a number of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The institution is able to unveil that in terms of enrolment, there are 296 students in the institution as shown in table 3, however in terms of gender; 76% are female students while 24% are male students at UG and PG level.
The college still keen to hire people from the state since 97% of the college students are from this state. The college has learnt that the right environment for learning should be available to the learners. They include the following features to help enhance the academic and personal development of its users.
Some of the facilities are an endowed library, modern Information and Technology facilities and students cafeteria. The college also has an auditorium for conducting all sorts of events and functions that a college may contain. However, it offers a girls’ hostel, to ensure that female candidates receive safe and comfortable accommodation from various parts of the country.
It also has a vibrant alumni organisation to enhance a good relationship between current learners and the alumni. In academic products offered, the College of Community and Applied Sciences offers a narrow range of specialised programmes. The college offers a total 11 courses . And the courses are M. Sc, B. Sc, Ph. D. with specialisations. The M. Sc.
in Textiles and Apparel Designing is a full-time course spread over two years and capacity is four students. At doctoral level there is doctoral degree programmes such as; Family Resource Management , Foods and Nutrition, Human Development and Family Studies with the seating capacities of two, three, and two respectively. Also, the college has a 5 seat M. Sc. Home Science Extension and Communication Management.
These programmes are specialised, therefore acknowledging the college’s willingness to provide for home science and other related Programmes at an advanced level. The College of Community and Applied Sciences with its admission aims at offering admission to the most qualified students in its programmes. In the case of the M. Sc.
Textiles and Apparel Designing programme, students are offered a pre-postgraduate test which is organised by the University. This means that the programme will only attract students who are most capable and willing to undergo the test in order to be selected.

The College of Community and Applied Sciences, MPUAT, Udaipur, makes provisions for students who wish for some scholarship opportunities to support deserving students in their academic pursuit. Out of the total inclusive of 148 students in undergraduate programs, only 5 students received financial reimbursements indicating that disaster-struck nearly 3. 4 percent of UG students got some form of financial assistance.
At the postgraduate level, however, it is majorly a different story high in terms of scholarship support. For example, out of 148 PG students, 93 received financial assistance from some financial reimbursement schemes. This means that about 62. 8 percent of the postgraduate students at the college enjoyed various scholarships.
These scholarships relieve students from heavy financial burdens and encourage academic excellence while being supportive of students coming out of economically weaker sections.
