College of Applied Science, Vadakkencherry

The College of Applied Science, Vadakkencherry also known as CAS Vadakkencherry was established in 1993. It is an affiliated college in Palakkad, Kerala offering combined and diverse undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The campus of AET is 4 acre that is of appropriate nature for academic activities.

The College presently has a student strength of 584 and a faculty member of 22 which enables the college to provide proper care and education to its students. The college currently has 7 courses in 4 degree programmes in areas like Computer science , electronics, commerce and Audio engineering . This combination of old and new science meets the demands of a rapidly developing job market and research fields.

CAS Vadakkencherry enjoys various facilities aimed at making students’ learning a memorable venture. The college library is special information center, providing students with a large number of books and journals, digital sources. High-tech learning facilities keep students up to date with modern technologies in information technology systems.

There are numerous laboratories in the school and students can practice with activities in various subjects especially the science and technological related subjects. In the fields of extracurricular activities, the college provides sports amenities and a indoor auditorium with amusement programmes for cultural programs and seminar.

Food service is provided on campus with a cafeteria remit to meet the culinary requirements of students and staff. The college also has good network relations with the alumni through its functional Alumni Association which helps current students find job opportunities. The institute provides seven courses in all of which are full time programme.

These are first degrees, masters degree and a postgraduate diploma courses. The under graduate courses take three years while post graduate courses take two years on average. The college also proposes that total student capacity of all courses is 584 to ensure that student to advanced teacher ratio is controlled.

Most of the courses have a facility called the University Online Admission Process (CAP) through which the admission to CAS Vadakken Cherry is done. This process makes it easier for the organisation to be selective since the nominating committees work from a central point.

For the Postgraduate Diploma in Audio Engineering, the college conducts interviews for admission to enable them determine the candidate’s abilities and interest.
