Bijni College Chirang was established on July 21, 1969 and is one of the oldest and most reputed institutions in the Bodoland Territorial Region of Assam. The college offers a wide range of Higher Secondary, Undergraduate, and Postgraduate programmes in Arts and Science streams. Bijni College is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The institution is accredited by NAAC with a ‘B’ Grade.
Bijni College currently offers full-time HS, UG (Honours), and PG programmes. Undergraduate programmes like BA and BSc are available in Assamese, Bodo, English, Education, Economics, Philosophy, Political Science, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, and Mathematics. Postgraduate programmes include MA in Bodo, English, and Education.
Bijni College strictly follows the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and the new NEP 2020 curriculum structure for undergraduate education. Bijni College Chirang functions with the goal of providing affordable and inclusive education to rural and underprivileged communities of lower Assam.
