Bhima Bhoi College, Sambalpur

Bhima Bhoi was established in 1970 as a self-financed college in the remote area of Rairakhol under the Sambalpur district of Odisha. This affiliated college, located on 20 acres of land with rich academia, is a pioneer institution that has been providing education to its students for more than half a century.

Being accredited by NAAC, Bhima Bhoi College is currently educating 869 students and offering a wide list of UG specialities. Targeting the requirements of present-day students and generating skilled and competent graduates in the employment market, the college employs a blend of 25 well-qualified permanent faculty members, of which the student-teacher ratio is highly favourable.

The college boasts of adequate facilities to support the learning process, which goes alongside what the college offers as a learning institution. The campus is surrounded by a rather interesting library: it is a source of knowledge and a rich collection that becomes students’ focus.

Bhima Bhoi College currently offers 16 main programmes : BA (Bachelor of Arts) and B. Sc ( Bachelor of Science ). They are regular courses and take three years each to complete each course.

The BA programme has a proposed and approved intake capacity of 192, whereas the B. Sc. programme has a proposed and approved intake of 128 seats in all, and thus the overall intake capacity of the above-mentioned two courses is 320 seats. These programmes are meant to equip the students with adequate knowledge in the respective disciplines to prepare them for other academic studies or employment.
