Bharathiar College of Engineering and Technology (BCET) came into existence in the year 1997 and it is an affiliated college situated in Karaikal, Puducherry. This esteemed institution takes up 25 acres of land and provides various engineering and technology education disciplines. The institution has a total student enrolment of 279 and is aided by 70 members faculty-wise.

For the physical health of the students, BCET provides facilities for sports, such as a games ground, an indoor hall for sports and games, and a sports ground for fitness freaks. The college also boasts of an auditorium for rallies, seminars, etc. ; a cafeteria for lunch and snacks; and a health facility equipped with First Aid facilities.
Bharathiar College of Engineering and Technology is an academic institution that has been established to provide students with low-cost courses that are taken at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. BCET offers 6 B. Tech programmes, 5 M. Tech specialisations, and MCA which are all daytime courses. The B.
Tech programmes are Civil Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering , Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering , and Information Technology. In postgraduate-level courses, one of them is M. Tech in Power Electronics and Drives , another one is M. Tech in Computer science and engineering and the other one is M.
Tech in Computer aided Design, the fourth one is M. Tech in Wireless Communications, and the last one is M. Tech in Energy engineering. For the postgraduate students, the college has designed a course in Master of Computer Applications (MCA) for those who wish to know more about computers.
