The Shree Krishna Hospital, a teaching hospital of Bhaikaka University, Karamsad in association with Shree Bidada Sarvodaya Trust in Bhuj recently organised a free heart check-up camp that benefited 109 patients. The Bhaikaka University (BU), formerly known as the H. M. Patel Centre for Medical Care and Education , is an institution for students seeking a career in healthcare.

Situated on a sprawling 100-acre campus in Karamsad, the university is under the management of Charutar Arogya Mandal and was granted the status of a private university on September 25, 2019. To encourage students to pursue post-graduation, the UGC introduced a Post-Graduate Merit Scholarship Scheme for University undergraduate rank holders. The scholarship is granted for a duration of two years, facilitating the pursuit of a Master's Degree by the top-performing students from each university at the undergraduate level.

Objectives of the Scholarship Scheme To promote and nurture talent To reward meritorious students with outstanding performance at the Undergraduate level for pursuing postgraduate studies To promote study in basic courses at the undergraduate level.

Professional courses are not covered under the scheme To build up academic excellence at postgraduate level across the colleges and universities in the country Eligibility Criteria Scholarships would be awarded to first and second-rank holders at the undergraduate level, admitted to any postgraduate course. The scholarship would be awarded to students with a minimum of 60% marks at the undergraduate level.

Only those students will be eligible who are pursuing PG from any recognised university, deemed university, private university, autonomous college, or post-graduate college, in a full-time mode.

The Undergraduate courses from the following streams have been identified for the award of Scholarships: Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Social Sciences, Commerce, Languages. The applicable age limit for the students is 30 years at the time of admission to the PG course. Scholarship Amount Amount of fellowship: Rs. 3,100 p. m for a period of two years only.
