The Bangalore Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital, Bangalore or BIDS Bangalore for short is noted private dental college having its origin in the year 1991. Established in the year 1987, this institute is nurturing the dental professionals from the heart of Bangalore, Karnataka.

The school of BIDS Bangalore is a University affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and is recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI). Situated in a campus area of 4. 01 acres, out of which it has constructed a built up area of 63,269 sqm, the institute has a total enrolment of 296 students and total faculty members 113.

BIDS Bangalore has 10 courses in 2 degrees thus focusing on different fields of dental science and with the degree of BDS and MDS. Hostel and Dining facilities BIDS Bangalore provide Hostel for boys and girls separately being medically safe and are available round the clock with medical facilities physicians along with hygienically prepared and healthy food. The library situated in second floor of the college building is loaded with various knowledge about dentistry.

It consists of Dental Library and Health Sciences Library with the total seating accommodation of the undergraduate students of 150 and the postgraduate students of 60. Big spacious and naturally lit environment of the library is conducive for study and in conducting research. BIDS Bangalore also offers sports for students and makes sure students maintain health and fitness while studying.

It has come to equip itself also with modern IT facilities such as computer and internet connectivity through a computer centre and Wi-Fi respectively for the purpose of connecting the students to the modern era innovations. BIDS Bangalore has developed a complete series of dental courses for undergraduate as well as postgraduate levels.

One under graduate programme of study is Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) whilst nine post graduate programmes are Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) fields of specialty. All courses offered are full-time, BDS is a five-year program and the MDS’s are three years long each.
