Arafa Institute for Teacher Education is an affiliated college, begun in the year 2005 and situated in Thrissur, Kerala. Girls’ hostel is found within the campus offers an opportunity for students’ fellowship and personality development which are important for the teaching profession. College libraries own over 4300 books; references, textbooks, and journals where the library also contains a reading room section for magazines and newspapers. Under physical development, college has required equipment for sports and also place to play.
The centre of the institute is fully equipped with modern gadgets like computer, internet facilities and ac etc, it has a computer lab and ICT center for one hundred students at a time. Teacher training is served by this well-equipped psychological lab with the major psychological tests and psychological equipment.
Further, the college has a sheeted auditorium with a cockpit near 1000 making it a right venue for all congregation and occasions. f Arafa Institute for Teacher Education has a well defined focus with only one course offered, the Bachelor of Education (B. Ed).
This is a full-time course that takes two years to complete and the institute has an approved annual students’ intake for the course at one hundred students, in order to ensure that the institute can maintain the ratio of students to teachers to ensure that adequate learning takes place. Through the B.
Ed programme the students are training to impart knowledge and skills as well as gaining the competence that is required to teach in the modern society. Thus, Arafa Institute for Teacher Education follows policies of marks obtained in the qualifying as well as entrance examination as per the rules and regulation of the state government and the university for its admission procedure.
