Al Iqra Teacher’s Training College which started in 2010 is an affiliated college situated in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. This computer science teacher training institute is accredited from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and recognised from National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Located on a small piece of land measuring 1. 8 acres the college provides a best homely environment for education.

Affiliating to the Himachal Pradesh University, the institute has a total student strength of 254 and employs 24 faculty members. Al Iqra Teacher’s Training College has a rich infrastructure especially equipped amenities aimed at improving learning process and student’s personal growth.

A central library is well stacked with more than 1600 books which include 125 reference books and 25 encyclopedia besides educational journals and magazines. The reading room is able to accommodate 25 students at a go for learning purposes or research in particular.

To enhance student hands-on practical skills, the college boasts of the following laboratories: Curriculum Lab, Psychology Lab, Two Science Laboratories, and an Educational Technology Lab for Computer Literacy With regards to the games, sports and physically fitness, there are both indoor and outside games facilities, as well as a gym for fitness.

Al Iqra Teacher’s Training College offers three full time courses of Teacher ‘Education with an intake capacity of 250 students for all the programmes. The largest number of students is offered in the flagship course, the Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) teaching practice for secondary schools with an intake of 150 students. For students who having a desire to be placed in higher education the college provide an M.

Ed course with 50 capacity. Similarly, there is 50 seat capacity for Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed) for the candidate who wants to be a primary teacher. These programs are meant to prepare students for effective practice as teachers as well as leaders of educational organisations.

Admission at Al Iqra Teacher’s Training College is a merit one in that; students’ performances, especially in qualifying examinations and entrance tests are considered. The college has laid down its own admission policies on the basis of norms set by the state government/UT administration and the affiliated University.
