Akal Degree College for Women Sangrur was established in the year 1970, is one of the premier educational institutions of the region striving for woman education. It is affiliated college situated in Sangrur Punjab India and is spread over a 3 acres area of land providing various courses.

A college is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), proving its readiness to provide the population with quality education. Presently Akal Degree College has only 461 students enrolled and has 9 teachers a fact that ensures a proper teacher student ratio in the college.

Currently the institution proffers 8 courses within 6 degree programmes including fields of Information Technology, Computer Applications, Vocational Studies etc. Akal Degree College for Women progessed into having many facilities that can supplement and complement the learning process of the students.

A library is well equipped with over 14,000 books as well as magazines, journals and newspaper subscription are available to enlighten the scholars. This campus incorporates contemporary physical infrastructure that meets information tech needs through provision of WiFi, which is always on to make sure the students have the best resources.

Hostel for girls is available for students who are in need of the services, it has the capacity to contain 250 students’ and it has basic facilities such as spacious rooms, prayer place, dining and recreation area. The hostel blocks have been sectioned for Computer Department and BA students to ease living convenience.

Care for health is given with a dispensary on campus, headed by a part time doctor, free medical facilities are provided to students and members of staff.
